When a medium sized legal firm experienced significant organic growth supplemented by astute acquisitions, the Managing Partner realised that for further growth to be successful they needed to be more structured in planning for the future. The management team was used to ‘working in the business’ but not familiar with taking a strategic perspective.
Inspired Partners shared with the firm fresh ideas and insights into how other businesses across different sectors operate and used this knowledge to develop the thinking of the senior team. A compelling vision was created that everyone in the firm could understand and engage with. Then a three-year strategy was defined to deliver the vision encompassing planned and measurable activities for each year.
Staff briefings were held to share the strategy and implications from operational and business perspectives.
The management team had a new strategic framework within which to operate and as a result are making changes to the business, for example:
- improved staff engagement through regular communications
- refreshed financial reporting mechanisms
- further acquisitions to continue their growth trajectory
In 2016, the firm were awarded Law Firm of the Year by their local Law Society. They impressed the Judges with their growth and contribution to the local area. This is great PR for the firm and makes them more attractive to new recruits as they continue to grow.
